Puppy Playtime!

Last night was the first time Kobi has been back at his puppy school. We normally take him every Thursdays and Saturdays but since his neuturing surgery plus the holiday break there has been a 3 week gap. He was very happy to be back with his furiends.

In front of the doggie school that we have been taking Kobi since he's been 4 months old. It's been highly recommend by other dog owners and we've even met other shiba puppies there! Kobi has learned a lot from their trainings and has gain a great amount of socialization.

Each time we've parked in front of his school, he would whine and cry because he knows when it's playtime/class. :P

Hello furiend!

Thirsty.. let's share!

Shake paws with daddy!

Okie.. breaktime. I'm already tiredd..

Late night watching

Last night hubby was playing his video game and Kobi got curious so he was watching our tv for a little bit. haha..

I'm a curious shiba...

On the topic of watching. I re-watched some of Kobi's youtube videos and OMG how adorable and tiny he was! We need to update soon on his videos but here's one that totally makes me smile. :)

Kobi vs. baby carrot

The other day I was making some veggie and fruit smoothies and accidently dropped a piece of carrot onto the kitchen floor. Well just so happened Kobi was waiting underneath me hoping for a treat to drop from the 'skies'. Right away he grabs the piece of carrot from the floor and ran off to his usual spot in the livingroom to 'inspect' this treat. This wasn't the first time we've given him carrot but each time we've tried to feed him it, he would just play with it and shred it to pieces leaving hubby to pick up all of the bits off of the carpet or floor. Well sure enough, he did the exact same thing. -_-

But tonight I decided to give Kobi a whole baby carrot to see what he'll do with it again.

Hmmm... this doesn't taste like my regular ticken (chicken) treat..

Let the shredding begin...

In the end, he finished the whole baby carrot without leaving the bits leftover for us to clean up. He seemed to really like it now. Yay!

The benefits of giving your doggie carrots are:

- Carrots make a low-calorie alternative to fattening, preservative-filled commercial treats. Dogs can eat raw or cooked carrots with no dire consequences except orange poop.
- Not only are raw carrots low-calorie treats for the weight-conscious dog, they can also be helpful in helping "scrub" teeth clean as the dog chews.
- Use either baby carrots or chopped up large ones as treats. Carrots can also be cooked, stored in the refrigerator, and handed out as needed. Healthy compared to the cheese treats sitting in our freezer which Kobi loves as well.

Hmmm.. not bad.. may I have seconds later?

Another day at the vet..

For the past 5 months that we've had Kobi. It seems like almost every month we've taken him to the vet either a quick check-up or most recently his neuturing surgery. We may be worrisome fur-parents but sometimes it's better to be cautious than not. So on NYE, we've discovered a white bump on Kobi's upper gum and at first glance, I panicked. But after hubby researched it, we may have a wart on our hands which made me calm down a little but not until we had our vet take a look at it.

This 'wart-like' bump is called Oral Papillomatosis. Oral papillomatosis is a contagious disease (it is not contagious to humans) caused by a virus that produces growths or warts in the mouth and or the tongue, lips, eyelids and nose. The growths appear about one month after the animal contracts the virus. Dogs under 4 years of age are most commonly affected. Eventually it will go away on it's own but can be a nuisance if there are more than one appearing over time.

So overall, the vet said it's nothing to worry about. Just have to wait till it goes away on it's own and fortunately it haven't appeared to be bothersome to Kobi at all. So we were relieved. Hopefully that little thing goes away or else we'll need to monitor Kobi 24/7 on who he licks and touch snouts with. -_-

Why am I here again...?

Don't let my smile fool you, I am NOT happy to be here..

Afterwards, we decided to take Kobi out to another dog-friendly outing since we were on the eastside area. Hubs looked up a place and found Luther Burbank park located in Mercer Island. It has an off-leash dog park area plus a nice park nearby Lake Washington to take a walk around. We kept Kobi on a 30ft leash so he can explore around but decided to skip the off-leash dog park. Maybe next time..

I wanna play with the other doggies too!

Oooo... another shiba!!

Why are you guys all the way back there..?

Me has the shiba zoomies.. and I am gone!

First Day of 2012

With both of us at home on a Sunday.. No better way to start off the new year by taking Kobi out for another full day of F.U.N!

But before we get ready to leave. Time to give Kobi his breakfast! Normally we just feed it in the dish like for any other puppy but sometimes we like to stimulate his 'big' shiba mind by putting it in a treat ball so he can interact with it and work hard for his food. :)

I'm a shiba.. this is easy as pie! Mmm.. food.

Now off we go to take Kobi to the Ballard Locks!

Love sticking his head out of the window! His snorting sounds are so darn cute!

Ooooo... my canadian geese friends!!

Yay, we are here!

Hmmm.. what's down there??

So many people! Wanna pet me?? :D

Me pooped out in mommy's car... too much walking.. my pawsss..

Mommy said I deserved a treat! Mmmm... lamb & apple healthy edible bone. :) :)

Pooped out AGAIN. Night Night Kobiiiii!

Happy NYE!!

Today we took Kobi out on a full day outing to downtown Seattle.

First stop was walking around Pike Place Market and grabbing a bite to eat at Gourmet Japon Dog. Kobi got intrigued by all of the plump pigeons hanging around the food cart. haha..

Mmmmm... japanese style hot dogs.

Someone is tired from all the walking. Mini break.

Then off to the waterfront to get more attention from walkers. :P

Me back at home and taking a good NEEDED nap. On the way home mommy and daddy stopped by a Petco to buy me a new dino to add to my collection. hehe...

Now cousin, Mylo is over to play/celebrate and we want to wish everyone a Happy New Years!

See you in 2012!!
