Scaredy-shiba of flies??

So last night was a typical Sunday night but when the Hubs came back home from his nightly walk with Kobi something strange happened..

After getting cleaned up, Kobi strolls into the livingroom and starts to stare up at the ceiling and walls as if there was something there. We both looked up to see what Kobi was looking at but we couldn't find what he was pointing to. After a few mins, hubs said that he was able to hear a buzzing sound which we noticed Kobi was hearing too because he was darting around searching for 'it'. Eventually the fly came out and Kobi caught it in his mouth and was able to 'kill' it.. it wasn't dead all the way because it flew up and hit Kobi underneath which he whipped around and looked down to find the fly again. We saw it half-way dead on the coffee table and hubby was able to kill it off (sounds horrible). After disposing the dead fly, we were left back to the way it was.. so we thought.. Instead we were left with a trembling/scared puppy that was SPOOKED out. Kobi ran to the door with his tail tucked in between his legs and wouldn't leave that spot. I picked him up and he was shaken. Such a strange thing.. we went to bed afterwards and he wedged himself in between us to feel more protected by us.

Not sure if this happens to everyone with a shiba but we were dumbfounded and didn't know if this was a shiba thing? After 15 mins went by, Kobi was still spooked out and kept looking up at the ceiling and walls to make sure flies were lingering around. He also avoided the spot where he had found and killed the fly as if it was a dangerous area. Hmmmm....

If anyone has had this similar problem. Please let us know what you've done to calm your pup down. This morning Kobi seemed ok until he ran into the livingroom and was searching up and down again. We can tell he was still spooked by that fly. Such a scaredy-shiba. -_-
